Member Categories & Fees
Qualified applicants may join OIDA at any time during the year. Memberships are annual beginning on the first of the month following receipt of application and initial payment and continue for one calendar year thereafter.
Voting or Associate Membership is open to any person or entity satisfying the qualifications as listed on the application form. Affiliate membership is available to a university or other educational institution, governmental organizations, not-for-profits, industry consortia, and the financial community. Community of Interest (CoI) membership is open to companies interested in being a member of a specialized industry group but who are not OIDA members. (OIDA members may join a CoI at any time and at no additional cost.)
Voting Member
Voting members are represented on the Board of Directors and the Steering Committee where they have an opportunity to discuss the status and pressing needs of the industry. They also participate in the selection, direction, and execution of all association activities. Voting memberships are available to any person or entity interested in the design, development, application, or promotion of optoelectronics products. Voting members must maintain an optoelectronics-related manufacturing or R&D facility. Voting members must be approved by the existing Board.
Associate Member
Associate members participate in OIDA activities and receive all the regularly distributed publications of the Association but are not represented on the governing bodies. Domestic associate members must meet the same criteria as voting members, and dues are consistent with corporate revenue.
Affiliate Member
Affiliate membership status was created to support university-industry interaction, governmental agency membership, and not-for-profit or industry coalition organization membership. Individual academic institutions or organizations interested in gaining exposure to the optoelectronics industry can participate in OIDA activities. Members of the financial community may join as financial affiliates.
Community of Interest (CoI) Member
CoI membership is available to both OIDA member companies and those companies which are not OIDA members. These groups are dedicated to specific missions in particular markets or technologies and have their own mission and structure. OIDA members may join a CoI at any time and at no additional cost.
